Description

The LCAC is a self-funded, all-volunteer membership arts agency, a 401(c)3 non-profit corporation. It has more than  300 members.

The LCAC operates the Main Street Gallery in Lakeport; runs an Art in Public Places program that places hundreds of paintings in public buildings in Lake County; holds meetings and classes in its Lakeport facility; is parent organization for two theater companies and a plein-air painting society; presents Pastels in the Park and Art in the Park annually, with art and activities for all ages; presents the Winter Music Fest, this year the eleventh annual; presents the Spring Dance Festival, this year the 26th; holds periodical auctions of art.

The Main Street Gallery holds an opening reception every month on the first Friday of the month. Usually there are four or five artists opeing their shows, joining about seven whose shows are currently running. There is food and entertainment provided, and wine is available. The evening starts at 5:30.
