Cobb Mountain


Cobb Mountain is California's best kept secret until now. The mountain is located only 30 minutes from Napa Valley and is nestled into the beautiful Evergreen Forest that adorns the entire village of Cobb California. Cobb use to be one the most thriving summer resort areas in the nation, and although it is making a comeback presently, it is now a great place to raise a family and live care free year round. The mountain area is so picturesque and tranquil to just walk around and enjoy nature at its finest. If you plan on staying overnight at one of the many campsites make certain that you read and follow the rules since it is a wild area and in wild area there just happens to be, wild animals! Only with a good feel of the environment that you will be staying the night in will you 100% afford yourself the peace of mind of a great nights sleep under the stars.

The Cobb Mountain area has so many trails and creeks and the chance of watching deer run through the valleys and leap over the falling trees, makes for a great environment and an educational experience for the entire family. One of the nicer locations around Cobb's Mountain is Boggs Vernon Lake Sanctuary. Here you will find the many different bird species that are native to Northern California and some that are just passing through, migratory style. The amount of wild-life that is present in this area of Northern California is quite the site to behold. The seasons may come and go but the population of deer, owls, mountain lions, and even the occasional black bear, if not in hibernation, are always present. The wildlife can be dangerous and it is wise to not ever feed any wild animals.

Cobb Mountain offers some of the best trail blazing available in the wine loving region, with springs, lakes and small creeks to cool you off if the hiking gets to laborious. The Cobb Mountain area does have four distinct seasons though. Spring brings in the blossom of all the wild flowers and all the trees are a florescent green or deep green. As spring leaves in comes the fall where all the leaves fall off the trees but the color is an amazing display. The days get longer and much cooler, inviting in the wintery months. Any season is a great time to visit Lake County and each variation of the year is perfect timing!

Summer brings in the volumes of tourists and part time residence that love to romp around Cobb Mountain. The visions of a happy vacationer running up and down the mountain and with the excitement of being in an actual most beautiful scene of happy faces running around. The entire lay of the land of Northern California is just that, happy, peaceful and siren. Make your next trip to Cobb Mountain in wonderful Lake County an experience of what Northern California is about. If you will be coming from the north then it will be no more than a few hours drive that is unless you are hailing from O’Canada then the drive could and will be significantly longer depending upon the area exited from.
